My Top Ten Buildings of the Lower East Side
The people and buildings make a city. Growing up in the Lower East Side, I used to walk past the Bialystoker Synagogue every day to go to school. This collage of memories represents a vital framing of my childhood that will stay with me forever. That’s why I want to look at the buildings which make the Lower East Side possible. I know they’re always changing and that with recent building developments do not always benefit the city. Still, I want to analyze the current landscape of architecture and development that is framing the Lower East Side experience for locals and tourists alike.
